On January 31, 2016 Live365.com officially ceased internet webcasting operations after more than 15 years of leadership in the webcasting business. We are sorry to see Live365.com disappear from the internet scene and wish all employees of the service well.
Music Box Memories conducted an extensive search to find the best alternative source for our programming and, on January 23 officially began the transition to our new home on Radionomy.com, another leading internet webcasting service. We hope this will be a long and permanent home for our programming.
Radionomy maintains certain minimum standards of listening hours and we must meet those minimums to remain as one of their internet webcasters. So please visit often – and LISTEN often – on Radionomy.com/musicboxmemories at http://listen.radionomy.com/musicboxmemories.
We’re excited that Live365 has selected Music Box Memories to launch an oldies station for their Valentines Day promotion this month. We’ve launched a second station that features the tunes you romanced to at The Music Box (and a few others) that fit the theme of Love365!

and return to the Music Box at Houghton Lake, Michigan.
The Music Box was a teen dance hall located at Prudenville on Houghton Lake, Michigan’s largest inland lake. The hall opened over the 4th of July holiday in 1946 and remained open continuously into the early 1980s. In the early 80s it, rather mysteriously, closed and was closed until 1999 when it reopened on weekends for a few short seasons through 2002 with nostalgia nights for the “alumni” and one evening per weekend dedicated to a new generation of young people. Then, after the 2002 season, the Box closed again, permanently this time. Founder and owner Lee Kelly had the building demolished in 2004. The story of the Box, its mysterious closure in the 80s and 90s, and reopening in 1999 can be found in The Box link below.
